This pattern is a knit-only design. No felting required!
This Autumn create a bounty of pumpkins with the addition of this trendy checked design! The pattern gives instructions for a three-color pumpkin with a tree branch for the stem. The finished pumpkin measures about 4-inch/10.16 cm high (including the stem) and about 5-inch/12.7 cm wide.
The pumpkin is knit as one continuous piece. No sewing of seams is necessary. Knitting begins at the base creating three stripes, then moves into the checked pattern, and ends with a bind off edge at the top that creates an opening for stuffing the pumpkin with fiberfill. Once stuffed, a cut branch is glued and stuffed into the pumpkin's opening. To create the finishing touch, a roving blossom end is needle felted to the pumpkin's base!
