The felted ornament measures about 3.5-inch/8.89-cm from the base to the cap's top. Knitting begins at the bottom working upwards, and finishes with a bind off neck, creating a hole. Once felted, this hole will be used for stuffing the ornament with fiberfill, then sewn to create a neck for the ornament's cap to rest on. The cap is a metal decorative cap and is inserted into the neck's opening.
Once felted and stuffed, the ornament is embellished with a simple needle felted holly and berries motif.
Knit up several in a variety of color, stripes and embellishments -- no two need ever be the same!
Skill Level: intermediate, requires double point needle experience
Materials: worsted weight 100% wool yarn, size 10.5 double point needles, wool roving, wool batt, fiberfill, craft felt, decorative metal cap
